Kid Registrations

We are coming to the end of the kidding season for our goats, which also means it's that time of the year to send out a reminder to get them registered!

For our Breeders:

  • Remember to register your kids before you sell them. Registrations and transfers are free for members.

    • We do this for a couple reasons! Not only does it allow us to reach out to the new owners for support, but we can also encourage them to join in the AGBA family. Additionally, it allows them to just enjoy their goats without having to worry about too much paperwork in the beginning.

    • It's the responsibility of the breeder to make sure registrations are done - it's part of our bylaws!

  • To make it easy, we offer multiple ways to send in those applications.

    • Upload them via the Google form on the website

    • Email your application and photos to arapawa.registrar@gmail.com

    • Mail in paper applications and photos to "AGBA Registrar, 5555 Zoo Blvd, Wichita, KS 67212"

  • Photos and Tattoos are required for registration. If you need help, we have multiple articles on our website and in our member's handbook for taking the perfect photos and getting the tattoo format right.

  • New owners should be provided copies of the registration papers for informal purposes. The originals will be sent to them once the registry can process the transfer.

  • You can register and transfer at the same time! Just fill out the application with yourself as the "breeder" and the new owner as "owner".

  • Contact the registrar (arapawa.registrar@gmail.com) if you have any questions!

For our Potential New Breeders:

  • We encourage supporting the breeders listed in our Breeder's Directory if you can!

  • Always make sure the goats you purchase are registered, not "registerable". It's not your job in purchase to go through that process as well.

    • There are cases in which multiple generations have skipped registration, and without info, we can't always register goats. AGBA will make every effort to grant that registration if there is enough data, but there is no guarantee.

  • Get copies of registration papers from the breeder!

  • Consider joining as an AGBA member. Not only will you get free registrations and transfers, but it might encourage some of our breeders to sell to you. There can be preference due to the rarity of our breed. :)

  • If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to any of the AGBA board members.

With that, we wish you all a wonderful season, and are excited for future ones to come.
